20-23 So, then, if with Christ you’ve put all that pretentious and infantile religion behind you, why do you let yourselves be bullied by it? “Don’t touch this! Don’t taste that! Don’t go near this!” Do you think things that are here today and gone tomorrow are worth that kind of attention? Such things sound impressive if said in a deep enough voice. They even give the illusion of being pious and humble and ascetic. But they’re just another way of showing off, making yourselves look important. Colossians 2:20-23 MSG
You want to serve your Lord with your talents, passion and love, but every time you do, it seems someone stands against you and tells you that you are not worthy.
They have said you are not prepared enough because you don’t know the ins and outs of the Bible, you didn’t attend Bible college or have not gotten enough revelation from the Lord.
They tell you that you are too sinful, that you fail too much and are not worthy of representing God and must leave His word out of your mouth.
Do not believe the lies of the enemy! Those comments are the opposite of what the Word shows us. The word shows us that Christ wants us as we are and not as we want to be. Christ sees our faults and knows we will miss the target sometimes and yet accepts and loves us. In His perfect will He uses imperfect people.
See the Samaritan woman. The Lord knew her, she confessed her sin and immediately she went out to speak about Him. She spoke about what He had done for her and how He had impacted her. She is our first woman evangelist. She isn’t perfect and hadn’t yet changed and yet Christ told her before anyone else that He was the Messiah. He knew what He was doing. He knew that her passion, courage and love for truth would make her the perfect speaker for Him.
He knew her faults, issues and sin and expected her to turn from them, believed she would and sent her out. HE sent her out and no one could stop her. Her testimony saved her whole village.
You have a village assigned to you by Christ. He knows you in and out and yet has assigned YOU. DO NOT allow anyone to make you keep quiet about Christ. The gospel isn’t about your perfection, it is about Christ’s love for the imperfect and you and I are the perfect example.
Turn from your sin today and speak of His love and mercy. The village is waiting,
